Horseback Riding Vacation in Southern California

There are few things better than horseback riding in Southern California. While there are almost countless places to get up on a horse in the southwest U.S., it is best to do it with us. Rankin Ranch in Southern California has fantastic views, trails and we are accommodating for all levels of experience for horseback riding. But, if you are still hesitant to join us, here are some reasons to change your mind.

We’ve Been Doing This for a While

A while is putting it lightly. The Quarter Circle U Rankin Ranch was founded in 1863 by Walker Rankin Sr, and it’s one of the oldest and largest family-owned ranches in the West. When you stay here, you’ll be a part of more than 150 years of ranch history. You can meet the Rankin family and take part in a delicious Rankin Ranch meal featuring our perfected Rankin Ranch beef.

If You’ve Never Ridden, That’s OK

Many people who come to the Ranch have never been on a horse before. We have helpful guides and steeds that will make the experience a welcome one. In addition, safety is our priority. So you can worry less about what-ifs and focus on the beautiful scenery.

Can Children Ride?

Yes, riding is for ages six and older. If you have younger ones, there are other activities on the Ranch for them to enjoy. We have counselors on duty for most of the day that plan activities for ages four-eleven. Some things they can look forward to doing are arts and crafts, nature hikes, scavenger hunts, treasure hunts, talent shows, swim meets, and more.

Still Not Interested in Horseback Riding

Fine! We’re positive someone in your party will join us on the dusty trails. For those less interested in horseback riding, the Ranch does offer swimming, hiking, fishing, a recreation room, a large outdoor lawn area with sports equipment available, and more.

Join Us at the Rankin Ranch

Horseback riding is the thing to do when you stay in Southern California at the Rankin Ranch. In addition to riding, we’ll serve you breakfast and dinner to keep your appetite satisfied. If you need to stay even busier we have square dancing, bingo, pool, and foosball tournaments too. Check out our website for offseason rates and packages!
